Mary Keelan, Director

Mary Keelan teaches Kindermusik, Music Makers at the Keyboard, Musik 'n Muffins, private piano and keyboard orchestras.  She received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with piano emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado, and has done graduate study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Human Development & the Family.

Mary began her music career as a church accompanist at the age of 13. Following college, she taught music in the public schools, then took a 20 year break from the music profession to work with children & families for the State of Nebraska. She became aware of Kindermusik in 1991 when she was searching for a music program that would best meet the needs of her son, Jesse, then 3. They both fell in love with Kindermusik!  Following Jesse's graduation from the program, Mary was trained & became a licensed educator in 1994, when she opened her studio, Kindermusik of Northeast Lincoln. Having taught private piano on and off since college, she resumed teaching full-time in 1997.  The studio was renamed in 2006, when it was expanded to include more offerings.

Mary is a licensed Musikgarten and Kindermusik educator. She was accepted into Kindermusik International's Maestro Producer program in 2002, & is a member of the Kindermusik Educator's Association. Mary is a member of the National Music Teacher's Association, where she currently serves on the Lincoln Board. She is wife to Sid, step-mom to Rebecka, foster mom to Nancy & Kim, host mom to Verena and Knut, just plain mom to Jesse, and grandma to Zack & Alex. She feels blessed to be able to combine her love of people & her love of music to bring music to Lincoln families.
